Ransundet offers great opportunities for fishing and other nature experiences. In total, 12 lakes and 15 km of flowing water are available within the Ransundet fishing conservation area (FVO).

Please note that annual licences are valid for the calendar year. This means that if you buy an annual licence in, for example, June, it is valid from June to December and not for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Boat rental

Regulations

  • All forms of sport fishing are permitted.
  • Fishing is allowed with one (1) hand-held rod per person.
  • Net fishing and otter board fishing are only permitted for holders of fishing rights and their descendants.
  • The minimum size for trout when fishing in Råndaån is 25 cm.
  • Fishing for trout and char during the spawning season, 1 Sep – 31 Oct, is prohibited.
  • The fishing licence is personal and may not be transferred.
  • Children and young people fish for free until they turn 15.
  • The FVO may decide on temporary fishing bans in certain waters.
  • The fishing licence sellers can tell you where fishing bans currently apply.
  • Anyone caught without a valid fishing licence will be charged a penalty fee of 10% of the Swedish price base amount (prisbasbelopp).

Accessibility

Rånden. Rånden is easy to reach from the road that runs along the river. There is a lean-to shelter and an outhouse along Rånden, south of Ransundssjön.

Ransundssjön. Ransundssjön is in Ransundet, within walking distance of the parking area.

Other waters. The other lakes are well signposted along existing paths and trails. At Rånden, Stöpsjön and Spjuttjärn there are also lean-to shelters with outhouses, and at Gällerötjärn there is a rest cabin and an outhouse.

Lakes

All the lakes in the Ransundet FVO mainly hold trout and char. Ransundssjön also has perch. The lakes that belong to the Ransundet FVO are listed below.
